Welcome to my new adventure - Bertie's Treats. Bertie's Treats is a mobile ice cream cart whose purpose is to spread joy and build community.

I've always wanted to be the ice cream lady.  I remember hearing the ice cream truck driving through the neighborhood as a kid and all of us jumping on our banana seat bikes and taking off in search of it.  We met other kids while racing to find the ice cream truck and waiting in line for our turn to select a treat.

When I had my own kids, the ice cream truck was still a source of joy.  We'd dash out of the house and run to find it.  We'd call out to the neighbors, "The ice cream truck is coming!"  Joy is contagious and we'd find ourselves in a pack of like-minded souls racing toward the beautiful sound of ice cream truck music.

So when I saw a used ice cream cart for sale, I knew my time had come.  Ice cream makes people happy.  Sharing in the experience of standing in line and contemplating flavors can lead to new connections and new friends.  

Everyone  should be able to have this experience. When I take Bertie to a private event, I get to bring joy to the people there.  I simply ask for a donation so that I can take that same joy to those who may not otherwise have the opportunity to get ice cream from an ice cream lady.
